Why We Brought Emsella To Lincoln, NE
After having our first baby, Bella, I did all the things I was “supposed” to do. I worked on my core. I did my pelvic floor exercises that I recommend to my patients... And I was still leaking.
To be fair, Bella entered the world at 9 lbs. 15 oz. with a 99th-percentile head—my pelvic floor had been through it!
But I was frustrated. I was young, active, and healthy. I didn't want bladder leaks to simply become part of my life because I'd had a baby.
So I started researching.
That's when I discovered Emsella.
I had the opportunity to try it at a conference, and after one treatment, I could already tell something felt different.
That night, I went on a wine walk with 12 girlfriends. By the end of the night, four of them had leaked.
I wasn't one of them.
That was my okay...this is different moment.
I came home determined to find somewhere nearby where I could finish my treatments. There wasn't one.
So my husband and I looked at each other and basically said, “If this worked that well for me, we need this for our patients.”
And, selfishly, I really wanted to finish my treatments too. 😉
We brought Emsella to Ascend, and what happened next was incredible. We began helping women who had quietly dealt with bladder leaks for years—after babies, during menopause, while exercising, laughing, sneezing, traveling, and simply living their lives.
Since then, we've helped hundreds of women strengthen their pelvic floors and feel confident again.
Then came baby #2—another 9-pounder.
This time, I knew exactly where to start.
My own postpartum experience also helped us realize that the pelvic floor is only part of the picture. Pregnancy changes your abdominal wall, core strength, posture, and the way pressure moves through your pelvis.
That's why we've expanded our postpartum approach to include electromagnetic treatment of the lower abdominal muscles as well. The goal is to help reconnect and strengthen the deep abdominal muscles after pregnancy, support recovery from diastasis, and work together with the pelvic floor to create a stronger foundation from the inside out.
Emsella came to Ascend because I needed it first.
Now I get to help other women discover what I wish I'd known from the beginning:
Bladder leaks may be common after babies and with age—but you don't have to simply accept them.
